This was evidenced by frequent errors made during reading activities in Indonesian language lessons, preventing many students from meeting the expected reading fluency standards. Out of 24 students, only 10 met the minimum competency criteria, while the remaining 14 did not. To address this issue, a reverberating reading strategy supported by leveled books was implemented to enhance reading fluency. The aim of this study was to improve students’ reading fluency through the use of a reverberating reading strategy assisted by leveled books. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach involving 24 second-grade students. Data were collected through observations and tests. The data analysis revealed that teacher activity improved from 76.04% in Cycle I to 92.7% in Cycle II, while student activity increased from 72.91% to 95.83% over the same period. Similarly, students' reading fluency improved from 62.50% in Cycle I to 87.50% in Cycle II. The results of the study indicate that the echo reading strategy has a positive effect on students’ reading fluency. By imitating the way the teacher reads, including pronunciation, intonation, and pauses, students are able to pronounce words more accurately, read more smoothly, and develop proper intonation. The echo reading strategy has been proven effective in improving students’ reading fluency, especially for lower-grade students who still require direct guidance. By imitating the teacher’s reading, students gain concrete examples of correct reading, and their oral reading skills develop gradually. Teachers are encouraged to apply the echo reading strategy regularly and provide continuous guidance to ensure that students’ reading fluency can improve optimally.
Amna Afisha, Nida Jarmita Copyright (c) 2025 Amna Afisha, Nida Jarmita https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/540 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Makna Dan Nilai Perkawinan Jujur Dalam Masyarakat Adat Wewewa Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/591
This study aims to examine and interpret the meanings and values embedded in jujur marriage as practiced by the Wewewa community. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions involving seven key informants selected purposively based on their cultural knowledge and social roles. Data were analyzed through stages of reduction, categorization, interpretation, and verification. The findings reveal that jujur marriage embodies three interrelated meanings: symbolic meaning, which reflects social status and respect for women; relational meaning, which strengthens kinship ties and social alliances; and spiritual-cultural meaning, which emphasizes the role of ancestors in sanctifying marriage. Furthermore, this tradition is underpinned by core values of responsibility, political legitimacy, cultural identity, familial solidarity, and religiosity. In conclusion, jujur marriage functions as an integrated cultural system that regulates marital relations while simultaneously reproducing indigenous values across generations, thereby sustaining the social structure and cultural identity of the Wewewa people in a changing social context.
Maria Hendritha Lidya Ngongo, Fransiskus Bustan, Hotlif Arkilaus Nope Copyright (c) 2025 Maria Hendritha Lidya Ngongo, Fransiskus Bustan, Hotlif Arkilaus Nope https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/591 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Audiovisual Berbasis Digital Terhadap Keterampilan Literasi Membaca Permulaan Di Kelas 2 Min 6 Aceh Utara https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/574
This study aims to examine the effect of using digital audiovisual media on the literacy skills and early reading abilities of second-grade students at MIN 6 Aceh Utara. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design involving one experimental class. The research instrument is an oral test administered in the form of a pre-test and post-test. The total sampling for this study was 10 second-grade students at MIN 6 Aceh Utara. Data analysis in this study used a parametric test, namely a dependent difference test (t-test). The results showed a significant effect from the dependent t-test results, namely 7.927, which was greater than 1.883 in the students' early reading skills. The average pre-test score was 57, which is categorized as very low. After being given treatment with digital audiovisual media, the average post-test score increased to 89.5, which is categorized as very high. This increase proves that the use of audiovisual media can effectively improve students' early reading literacy skills.
Suci Aulia Safira, Nisa Mawaddah, Syibbra Malasi, Selvi Saprina, Samsul Bahri Copyright (c) 2025 Suci Aulia Safira, Nisa Mawaddah, Syibbra Malasi, Selvi Saprina, Samsul Bahri https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/574 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Digital Learning Readiness of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers in Myanmar: Perceptions of Learning Management Systems and Human Resource Management Implications https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/610
The integration of Learning Management Systems (LMS) has become increasingly significant in higher education, particularly in contexts where access to face-to-face learning is disrupted. This qualitative phenomenological study investigates pre-service elementary teachers’ perceptions of Learning Management System use in Myanmar, focusing on their experiences at a University of Teaching. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and a focus group discussion involving twelve pre-service elementary teachers who had prior experience using Moodle during their coursework. The findings indicate that participants generally perceived LMS as a useful and flexible tool that supported access to learning materials, facilitated revision through recorded lectures, promoted autonomous learning, and reduced costs related to transportation and physical resources. However, participants also reported significant challenges, including unstable internet connectivity, technical system limitations, restricted access to downloadable materials, and insufficient system notifications. In addition to technical barriers, psychological challenges such as boredom, loneliness, reduced motivation, and lack of social interaction were identified. These findings suggest that while LMS plays an essential role in sustaining teacher education in Myanmar, particularly under unstable conditions, its effectiveness is constrained by infrastructural and emotional factors. The study highlights the need for improved technological infrastructure, enhanced system design, and supportive pedagogical strategies to strengthen LMS implementation in pre-service elementary teacher education.
Min Min Thet, Dedi Rianto Rahadi Copyright (c) 2025 Min Min Thet, Dedi Rianto Rahadi https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/610 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Efektivitas Penggunaan Mendeley dalam Penyusunan Skripsi oleh Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Periode Juli–Desember 2025 https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/613
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Mendeley in supporting thesis writing, particularly in citation and bibliography preparation among Indonesian Language Education students. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving students who actively used Mendeley during the thesis-writing process. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaires distributed via Google Forms and supported by documentation in the form of screenshots of citations and bibliographies generated using Mendeley. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the use of Mendeley is effective in assisting thesis writing. Mendeley helps students improve ease of use, increase time efficiency in writing citations and bibliographies, maintain consistency of citation formats, and manage references more systematically. However, several technical challenges were identified, such as incomplete metadata and synchronization issues, which require manual verification by users. Overall, Mendeley is considered an effective reference management tool in supporting the technical aspects of academic writing when accompanied by adequate user understanding.
Theodelind Eunike Pramesti Dawa Putri, Try Hariadi Copyright (c) 2025 Theodelind Eunike Pramesti Dawa Putri, Try Hariadi https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/613 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pengaruh Efektivitas Dana BOS terhadap Standar Nasional Pendidikan melalui Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dan Partisipasi Warga Sekolah di SMK Kota Kupang https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/673
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the utilization of School Operational Assistance Funds (BOS) on the achievement of National Education Standards (SNP) through the mediating role of principal leadership and school community participation in Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Kupang City. Employing a qualitative phenomenological design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with twelve elementary school teachers from public, private, and community schools across six regions in Myanmar. The data were analysed using thematic analysis guided by Goleman’s (1995) five components of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. The findings indicate that teachers demonstrate a partial yet practical understanding of EI and apply various classroom strategies, including integrating emotional learning into academic subjects, using positive communication, promoting cooperative learning activities, and encouraging students’ self-expression. Teachers perceived these practices as contributing to improvements in students’ behaviour, learning motivation, academic performance, and social interaction. Furthermore, EI-based approaches were reported to strengthen teacher–student relationships, improve classroom management, and enhance teachers’ job satisfaction. However, teachers also faced challenges such as limited instructional time, a lack of formal training in emotional intelligence, and contextual constraints related to political instability and scarce educational resources. Overall, the study concludes that fostering emotional intelligence in Myanmar elementary classrooms is essential for students’ holistic development and teachers’ professional effectiveness, underscoring the need for systematic teacher training and policy support to integrate emotional intelligence into everyday teaching practices.
Nwaye Nwaye Hlaing Copyright (c) 2025 Nwaye Nwaye Hlaing https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/603 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Dinamika Konflik Interpersonal antara Orang Tua dan Anak dalam Pemilihan Karier: Analisis Peran Bimbingan Karier di SMA N 2 Kupang Timur https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/590
This study explores the dynamics of interpersonal conflict between parents and students in career decision-making at SMA Negeri 2 Kupang Timur, a context characterized by strong cultural values and limited access to career information. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research examines forms of conflict, contributing factors, and the emotional and academic impacts on students. Findings reveal that conflicts commonly arise from mismatched expectations, with parents prioritizing stability and social status while students seek careers aligned with personal interests and talents. These conflicts often lead to stress, decreased motivation, and strained family relationships. The study highlights the significant role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers as mediators who facilitate constructive communication. Additionally, the Interest and Talent Assessment (ABM) serves as an effective tool to bridge perception gaps by providing objective data. The research concludes that reconciliation is achievable through open dialogue, data-based understanding, and collaborative decision-making involving both parents and students.
Linda Lidia Falukas, Silvester Taneo, Yoga Pradana Copyright (c) 2025 Linda Lidia Falukas, Silvester Taneo, Yoga Pradana https://journal.pencerah.org/index.php/ijtte/article/view/590 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000
